TCNJ Hosts the 33rd Annual Trenton Computer Festival,

April 25-27 2008

EWING, NJ ... The world's oldest and largest personal computer show will once again take place this spring at The College of New Jersey.

The oldest and largest personal computer show and sale in the world is again scheduled at The College of New Jersey on Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th with an IT (Information Technology) Professional Conference on Friday, April 25th and continuing on April 26th.

This year's festival will focus on "Hands-on Experiences". Many of the speakers and special presentations on the main exhibition floor will involve visitors in hands-on activities. Visitors will experience the latest in computers and consumer electronics technology - digital cameras, video, HD TV, VoIP, MP3 and much more... National exhibitors will demonstrate their most recent products. Attend at no extra cost numerous talks, workshops, tutorials, hands-on robot contests, computer merit badge sessions, applications sessions and poster sessions. Personal computing/electronics fans can find plenty of bargains on new and used hardware and software.

This year's Keynote Speaker on Saturday is David Perry, Global Director of Education for Trend Micro, who will talk on "Identity Theft".

This year's Robot Contests will have, on Saturday, a Sumo Competition and a Maze Navigation Competition; and on Sunday a Precipice Avoidance Competition and a DesignAThon Robot & Electronic Design section. The winners will receive prizes.

For the third year, the Trenton Computer Festival is extending its program to provide Information Technology and computer professionals with an additional day of conference. It is intended, in an economical way, to provide attendees with insight and information pertinent to their jobs, and to keep them informed of emerging technologies that could impact their work.

TCF was started 32 years ago in 1976 by Sol Libes, founder of the Amateur Computer Group of New Jersey, and Allen Katz, professor of Electrical/Computer Engineering at TCNJ, making it the first ever computer festival. Local and international fans anticipate this event. The festival provides funds for TCNJ's School of Engineering Scholarship Program.

A nonprofit educational corporation, TCF is operated by volunteers from TCNJ and the Amateur Computer Group of New Jersey, along with several other organizations: The New York Amateur Computer Club, The Computer Education Society of Philadelphia, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) Region 1 and its Princeton Central Jersey section, and of the Princeton Joint Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)/IEEE Computer Society Chapter.

Show hours on Saturday, April 26th are 10 am to 5 pm. Sunday show hours are 10 am to 4 pm. The flea market opens at 9 am both days and will be a Rain or Shine event. Indoor exhibits will be held in the Student Recreation Center and speaker sessions will be held in campus classrooms and in the Brower Student Center.

A two-day TCF admission pass is $12.50 if purchased in advance at http://www.tcf-nj.org/, but will be available at the door for $17. Passes for Sunday only are available for $12 at the door.
