TCNJ Hosts 34nd Annual Trenton Computer Festival

April 24-26 2009

EWING, NJ ... The world's oldest and largest personal computer show will once again take place this spring at The College of New Jersey.

TCF will be at The College of New Jersey on Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th with its associated IT (Information Technology) Professional Conference on Friday, April 24th and continuing on April 25th.

This year's festival will focus on "Digital Innovative and Entrepreneurial Ideas". Meet some of the people who are turning out New Jersey's innovative digital technology. Visitors will also experience the latest in computers and consumer electronics technology - digital cameras, video, HD TV, VoIP, MP3 and much more... Many of the speakers and special presentations on the main exhibition floor will involve visitors in hands-on activities. National exhibitors will demonstrate their most recent products. Attend at no extra cost numerous talks, workshops, tutorials, robot contests, innovation sessions, applications sessions and poster sessions. Personal computing/electronics fans can find plenty of bargains on new and used hardware and software.

Hear this year's Keynote Speaker on Saturday.

This year's Robot Contests will have Precipice Avoidance and Maze Navigation competitions on Saturday, and a special bring your robot to TCF competition on Sunday.

For the fourth year, the Trenton Computer Festival is extending its program to provide Information Technology and computer professionals with an additional day of conference. It is intended, in an economical way, to provide attendees with insight and information pertinent to their jobs, and to keep them informed of emerging technologies that could impact their work.

TCF was started 33 years ago in 1976 by Sol Libes, founder of the Amateur Computer Group of New Jersey, and Dr. Allen Katz, professor of Electrical/Computer Engineering at TCNJ, making it the first ever computer festival. Local and international fans anticipate this event. The festival provides funds for TCNJ's School of Engineering Scholarship Program.

A nonprofit educational corporation, TCF is operated by volunteers from TCNJ and the Amateur Computer Group of New Jersey, along with several other organizations: The New York Amateur Computer Club, The Computer Education Society of Philadelphia, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) Region 1 and its Princeton Central Jersey section, and of the Princeton Joint Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)/IEEE Computer Society Chapter.

Show hours on Saturday, April 25th are 10 am to 5 pm; Sunday show hours are 10 am to 4 pm. The flea market opens at 9 am both days and will be a Rain or Shine event. Indoor exhibits will be held in the Student Recreation Center and speaker sessions will be held in campus classrooms and in the Brower Student Center.
